Hello, and welcome to my personal blog. I'm Vinay Tulluru, a technology leader and architect with a deep passion for transforming how businesses connect with their customers.

By day, I'm the Senior Director of CDP & Decisioning Architecture at Merkle. In this role, I lead a team dedicated to architecting and implementing state-of-the-art Customer Data Platform (CDP) and decisioning solutions that drive real business growth.

Why This Blog?

I started this blog to share the practical, real-world lessons I've learned on the front lines of the MarTech revolution. My goal is to cut through the industry jargon and provide clear, actionable insights on the technologies that are shaping the future of customer experience. Here, you'll find my thoughts, tutorials, and deep dives on Salesforce Data Cloud, Pega CDH, Google Cloud Platform, and the architectural patterns that make them work together.

My Journey: From Data to Decisions

My career has been a fascinating evolution, mirroring the industry's shift from batch processing to real-time intelligence. I started my journey building foundational Teradata customer data warehouses, then moved on to crafting sophisticated segments with Unica Campaign. This foundation gave me a deep appreciation for data, which I now apply to the dynamic world of real-time decisioning engines and CDPs.

I've had the privilege of bringing these concepts to life for major brands. Some of the challenges I'm most proud of include:

  • Architecting a multi-channel decisioning solution for a top U.S. retailer, personalizing experiences for over 100 million customers across their website, mobile app, ATMs, and in-store POS systems.
  • Designing and implementing a high-throughput, guaranteed-delivery communication service for a financial services client, leveraging Redis and Apache Kafka to power real-time emails from Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Beyond the Day Job: A Passion for Building

My love for technology extends beyond my professional work. I'm a firm believer in the power of open-source and community collaboration. I am the creator and maintainer of node-red-contrib-oracledb-mod, a popular Node-RED plugin that helps developers connect to Oracle databases, serving over 100 downloads each week.
